PREDHAM, Jr., Patrick Joseph, 84, a longtime
resident of Pawling passed away June 11, 2015 at New Milford Hospital in
Connecticut with his family by his side. Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY to
Patrick and Margaret Mary (Coady) Predham on August 24, 1930, attended Pawling
School, joined the US Navy at age 17 serving in the Korean War on various
diesel submarines including USS Trumpetfish (SS-425) and USS
Sennet SS-408. After receiving an
honorable discharge, he married Ann Clair (Gallagher) on October 19, 1954 in
Brooklyn, NY. Pat joined the New York State Police in 1954, proudly serving as
a Trooper for 21 years until his "retirement" in 1975. Since his
"retirement" he was employed at: Neptune World Wide Moving in New
Rochelle, Vanguard Tours in Ossining, along with teaching many Defensive
Driving courses. He also volunteered his time for Boy Scout Troop 88 in Pawling
serving as Assistant Scoutmaster and later Scoutmaster. Pat was also involved
in coaching Little League, Pawling Fish and Game Association, Pawling Lions
Club, Hasler-Kamp Post American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. In his
later years Pat would express himself in his poetry writing hundreds of poems
showing joys, sorrows, and concerns. He also enjoyed ocean fishing trips,
visiting New Hampshire, flea markets, and Irish music. He especially enjoyed a
trip he took with his brother Bill in 2011 to Galveston,
Tx for a USS Sennet Reunion. Pat is survived by his three children, Patrick and his wife Cathy
Predham, Whitney Point, NY, John and his wife Kelly Predham, Sherman, CT, and
Lisa and her husband Patrick Cody, Pawling. He is also survived by three
siblings, his sister Dolores and her husband Thomas Dance, Pawling, and
brothers, William and his wife Judy Predham, NH, and Richard Predham, Pawling;
six grandchildren, Clair, Aubrey, Rachel, Avery, Brooke, Patrick Joseph
"PJ"; as well as two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Evelyn;
sister-in-law, Theresa Dugan and brother-in-law Charles Vorbach; and many
nieces, nephews, along with extended family in Brooklyn, and friends. Pat was
predeceased by both parents, Patrick and Margaret Mary Predham, his wife Ann
Clair Gallagher Predham, his sister Margret Goodin and his Grandson Michael
"Mikey" Cody. Arrangements are as follows, calling hours will be at
Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main Street, Pawling, Monday, June
15th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's
Catholic Church in Pawling at 10am Tuesday June 16th. Burial will follow in St.
John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory may be made to:
