Submarine Vets, USS Trigger (SS-237), book comment and submarine paintings. The 54th National Convention US Submarine Veterans of WWII, Louisville, Kentucky September 1-6, 2008.
The photo belongs to Larry Nokes. Larry never served on USS Trigger, he was with the relief crew during refit. The USS Trigger's battle flag is hanging on a screen door of a small cafe. Larry served aboard the USS Pampanito (SS-383).
John S. Smith Jr., producer of Louisiana's Greatest Generation Documentary said this about my book, Submarine Stories of World War II, " Your book is excellent, essay read! Congratulations!! I especially enjoyed Bill Grieves story on board the Thresher. What drama!! It would make a good move!"
