Sea Fox (SS402) conducted tests which demonstrated the practicability of ejecting such rafts from torpedo tubes, using torpedo impulse air. It is expected that deaths due to exposure and drowning subsequent to reaching the surface should be reduced by successful use of these rafts in conjunction with escape operations
